Clyde Rambo's Achievements
Clyde Rambo is the alter ego of a Hall
of Fame broadcaster who delights in
tweaking the interest and curiosity of all
who will listen.

Clyde hails from Resume Speed, N.C.,
a small dot on the map in eastern
Carolina, just down the road from
Mayberry. He has been married to the
same lady since April 1965 and has a
beautiful daughter who, along with her
husband has given him two wonderful
granddaughters. The girls were born in
1997 and 2002 and are the apple of
their Papa’s eye.

Clyde’s “voice” stems from a 42 year
broadcast career and ultimate
ownership of 44 radio stations over 13
states. He has been there and seen
most of the absurdities of life and
chooses to find the humor in it rather
than resort to road rage. His
commentaries run on many of America’s
great radio stations and are achieved
here for posterity….and spell checking.

Clyde Rambo has met Presidents and
Kings in his travels over the decades
but prefers the wisdom of the guy in
coveralls who sees the world as it is
rather than as related by spinmeisters. It
is that artificial world and all of the
oddities in it that draw out the wit (and
dare we say wisdom) of the man who
would have been born in a log cabin but
for lack of lumber.

Just as Bill Clinton gave George
Washington a run for his money to be
the “Father” of our country, so does
Clyde Rambo aspire to be the “Voice of
America”…..or at least a hiccup in the
hailstorm of life.
FAQ's of Clyde Rambo
Favorite sports team: UNC Tarheels. (Basketball.
Hopefully new head coach Butch Davis will resurrect our
football fortunes and I can remove the bag from my
head at home games.)

Favorite food: FRIED! Chicken or Fish, followed by
Maalox.

Hobbies: Sports, fishing and trying to remember when
I was good at both. Reading, traveling and trying to
update pictures in travel albums beyond the time when I
had wavy hair and a waistline still in double digits.

Interests: Anything pertaining to my two
granddaughters.

Political affiliation: Zip, Zilch, Nada! Equal
Opportunity Abuser of all things partisan and political.

How you got started: As a fetus.

Goals: One by the driveway but still can’t dunk.

Most important advice you were given as a
child: Never sit near your brother at a bean festival.

Answer to Rodney King’s question: Apparently
not.

Musical favorites: Country and Oldies top my charts.

Dixie Chicks: entitled to their opinion but not on my
nickel.

Beethoven: Did the best he could with no fiddle or
banjo in the band.
